Dead bodies and the 1st TV series credit
If you’ve been tuning in to the new season of Coroner on CBC, you might have caught a glimpse of me and my first ever TV series credit (!!!) in last night’s episode, “Cutting Corners”!!
To be honest, I’m a bit shy sharing this work. While getting my first TV role was a literal dream come true, it’s a fairly small part, I’m covered head-to-toe in scrubs and an N95 mask, and I’m only on-screen for a hot two seconds. Not exactly a lot to write home (or on social) about! But I realized that this limiting belief was acting as a thief of joy. So I’m working to change this narrative into a different one—the truth: that this was/is a powerful stepping stone towards the future I’m working really hard on building for myself. We’re out here manifesting our dreams, damnit!! And I’m proud of myself for that.
I’m SO grateful that I got to work with such pros for this scene – in front of and behind the camera. Serinda Swan is so fierce, super smart, and such a leader. Thom Allison was so kind and made me laugh, especially when he encouraged me to take a selfie with his cardboard cutout. And I even got to spend some time between setups chatting with the talented Kiley May & Jon De Leon about self-creation and production.
Plus, I had a massive trailer (?!) and—most importantly—an awesome lunch. That cake was goooood.
This was such an incredibly cool experience. I feel very lucky to be able to share it with all of you. Thank you Shortlist Artists for making it possible.
I’m gonna go examine another dead body now. 😂
